Date syrup

Zaal produces date syrup (also called date molasses, silan, date dibs or shireh khorma) in Isfahan, Iran, from 100% dates, with no added sugar, glucose, molasses, preservatives or colourings. Our range also includes date nectar (shahd khorma), obtained without heating for a milder taste. Every batch is laboratory-analysed. We supply both wholesale in retail glass packs, in bulk packaging or under private label. They are made to order and quoted per order.

Date syrup or date nectar?

Date syrup is the classic product: the extract of dates is filtered and concentrated under vacuum at 40–60 °C without boiling, which gives a dark colour and deep caramel notes. It suits baking, cooking and breakfast blends.

Date nectar is obtained without any heating. It keeps a milder, cleaner date taste without an iron-like aftertaste, and suits drizzling, beverages and premium retail. Because no heat is used, its exact nutrient content varies naturally from batch to batch.

A clean-label sweetener for food manufacturing

With an ingredient list of just dates, date syrup is a popular natural sweetener for energy bars, granola, bakery, dairy and beverages. It brings sweetness, colour and binding in one ingredient.

Each batch is laboratory-analysed, so specifications can be checked before production and shipment.
